Using the Duplex Option on the Printers in 1503 Busse

If you use any of the printers in room 1503 of the Busse Building
(CFAPRINT1, ELDERBOX, BIGBOX or the color printer), you can help us save paper and
money by using the duplex option as your default. Here's how:

1. Single click 'Start'. Single click on 'Printers and Faxes'.
If you are using the Classic Start Menu, go up to 'Settings' and single
   click 'Printers and Faxes'.
2. Right click the icon for the printer you wish to configure.
3. Select 'Properties'.
4. Click on 'Printing Preferences...'
5. For CFAPRINT1, click the 'Finishing' tab and click 'Print On Both
   Sides'.
For the color printer, ELDERBOX and BIGBOX, click the 'Layout' tab and select
   'Flip on Long Edge'.
Remember, BIGBOX should be used from your pc only if CFAPRINT1 is not
   working.
6. Click 'OK'.

What if you don't see the duplex option to select it? In that case
you need to tell your pc that the printer has a duplex tray installed.
Here's how to do that:

1. Single click 'Start'. Single click on 'Printers and Faxes'.
If you are using the Classic Start Menu, go up to 'Settings' and single
   click the 'Printers and Faxes'.
2. Right click the icon for the printer you wish to configure.
3. Select 'Properties'.
4. Single click the 'Device Options' or 'Device Settings' tab.
5. Scroll down to 'Installable options'.
6. Click on 'Memory Configuration' or 'Printer Memory'.
   For CFAPRINT1 select '160MB'.
For ELDERBOX select the largest amount available, up to 64MB.
For the Color Printer select '40-63 MB RAM'.
For BIGBIX select '44-59 MB Total RAM'.
7. Click on 'Duplex Unit' and select 'Installed'.
8. Press the 'Apply' button. Press the 'OK' button.
