Codebook for the 1998 cross-sectional dataset

--- This dataset includes 8959 respondents aged 80+ plus 34 respondents whose ages were younger than 80 who were first interviewed in 1998 (200 elders were interviewed in 1999). A cross-sectional weight is included in the released dataset. Please refer to Technical Reports regarding how the weight is generated in the CLHLS and how to use weight in the analysis. Please read the specification in the codebook before use this dataset.

Codebook for the 2000 cross-sectional dataset

--- This dataset includes 11,161 respondents aged 80+ who were interviewed in 2000 (4,824 first interviewed in 1998 and 6,337 first interviewed in 2000). Codebook for the 2002 cross-sectional dataset

--- This dataset includes 4,894 respondents aged 65-79 who were first added into the CLHLS in 2002 and 11,163 oldest-old aged 80+ (6,243 re-interviewees and 4,920 new interviewees). A cross-sectional weight is included in the released dataset. Please refer to Technical Reports regarding how the weight is generated in the CLHLS and how to use weight in the analysis. Codebook for the 2005 cross-sectional dataset

--- This dataset includes 4,955 respondents aged 65-79 and 10,658 oldest-old aged 80+. Out of those 15, 613 elders aged 65 and older, 1,043 subjects have four interviews (i.e., first interviewed in 1998), 1,608 elders have three interviews (i.e., first interviewed in 2000), 5,522 subjects have two interviewees (i.e., first interviewed in 2002), and 7,440 subjects have one interview (i.e., first interviewed in 2005). Twenty-five subjects whose ages are younger than 65. A cross-sectional weight is included in the released dataset. Please refer to Technical Reports regarding how the weight is generated in the CLHLS and how to use weight in the analysis. Please read the specification in the codebook before use this dataset.

No any deceased respondents who died between survey intervals are included in these datasets. If you are looking for the datasets for the deceased respondents, please go to longitudinal/panel datasets.
