1. The dataset of the 2008-09 wave of the CLHLS will be released soon.

2. Prof. Zeng Yi, PI of the CLHLS project, and Dr. Danan Gu held an informal session at the 2007 annual meeting of the Gerontological Society of America (GSA) on data use and related issues of the CLHLS on Nov. 19 in San Francisco. Nearly 20 scholars attended the workshop.  

3. Prof. Zeng Yi, PI of the CLHLS project, organized and chaired a Symposium on "Healthy Aging and Longevity" of 8th Asian/Oceania Regional Congress of Gerontology and Geriatrics, October 22-25, 2007, Beijing, China.  

4. Prof. Zeng Yi, Yang Huanming, and James Vaupel organized an international conference on “Research Frontiers of Social, Environmental and Genetic Determinants of Healthy Longevity”, in December 2006 in Beijing. More than 50 top scientists in this field from U.S., China, Germany, France, Denmark, Finland, Japan, South Korea intensively presented and discussed the most up-to-date research on this topic. For example, Science and Technology Daily offered a relatively large space on its front page reporting this conference (see the reportage in Chinese), which was then widely cited by other media.
